1. Who we are
Alexandru Cernat, trading as LongitudinalAnalysis.com, is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

This policy applies when you visit longitudinalanalysis.com (the “Website”), contact us, subscribe to the newsletter, book or attend a course, or purchase another service directly from us.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Website and our services, we may collect:
- Contact and professional details — name, email address, address, employer or institution.
- Booking and payment details — booking, payment-status, invoice and purchase-order information. Payment providers process full card details; we do not normally receive or store them.
- Course information — attendance, questions, feedback and certificate details.
- Recordings — your display name, voice, image, chat or screen where a recorded session captures your contribution.
- Correspondence — messages, complaints, refund requests and other information you choose to submit.
- Newsletter information — subscription status and email engagement.
- Technical information — browser, device, pages visited, referral source, approximate location, IP address and cookie choices.
We may also receive information from booking and payment providers, from an employer or institution booking on your behalf, or from platforms used to deliver content.
3. How and why we use information

Where we rely on legitimate interests, these are running, protecting and improving an independent training business. You can object to this processing (see section 9).
We do not sell personal information or make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Newsletter
We use MailerLite to manage the newsletter and send marketing emails only to people who have subscribed. Subscription is optional and never a condition of booking.
You can unsubscribe using the link in each marketing email or by contacting us. We keep a minimal suppression record so we do not add you back accidentally. Emails needed to administer a booking or deliver a purchased service are not marketing and may still be sent.
5. Cookies and Google Analytics
Cookies store or access information on your device. Necessary cookies support security, basic functions and storage of your cookie choices.
With your consent, we use Google Analytics to produce statistics about visits, pages viewed, referral sources, broad device information and approximate location, which we use to understand and improve the Website. Google Analytics runs only after you accept Statistics cookies. You can refuse them in the cookie banner or withdraw consent at any time via Manage Consent in the Website footer.
We do not use Google Analytics for personalised advertising or remarketing, and we do not send names, email addresses or research data to Google.

Google may process Analytics information outside the UK. Google states that GA4 uses IP addresses only to derive approximate location and discards them before they are logged or stored.
We do not currently use behavioural-advertising or cross-site remarketing cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and request any consent required.
6. Recordings and group sessions
The relevant course or service page will state whether sessions are recorded and how long recordings remain available. A recording may capture your display name, voice, image, chat or screen if you choose to contribute; you may normally keep your camera and microphone off, or contact us before a session if you have concerns.
Do not submit identifiable, confidential or sensitive personal data about research participants, patients, employees or anyone else — use synthetic, anonymised or appropriately de-identified material. Information you share in a group session may be visible to other participants, so do not share anything that would cause harm if disclosed.
7. Sharing and international transfers
Where necessary, we share information with providers that support the business: website hosting, security, email and IT; analytics; bookings and payments; online teaching; newsletter delivery; digital content; and professional advice. These currently include Google Analytics, Ticket Tailor, Stripe, Zoom, MailerLite and Leanpub, where relevant.
We may also disclose information where required by law. We do not sell personal information.
Some providers process information outside the UK. Where required, we rely on an adequacy decision, contractual safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism.
8. Retention
We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary:
- booking, invoice and contractual records — up to six years;
- course recordings — for the period advertised, normally 30 days;
- routine enquiries — normally up to two years;
- newsletter information — until you unsubscribe, then a minimal suppression record;
- testimonials — until consent is withdrawn or they are no longer relevant; and
- Analytics information and cookies — for the durations described above.
Information may be kept longer where the law requires or while a complaint or claim is being handled.
9. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to access or correct your information, request deletion or restriction, object to processing — including an absolute right to object to direct marketing — receive certain information in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time.
To exercise a right, email contact@alexcernat.com. We may ask for reasonable information to confirm your identity, and we will normally respond within one month, free of charge.

10. Security, external websites and changes
We use reasonable measures to protect personal information, but no internet service is completely secure. Do not send confidential or identifiable research data through ordinary email or Website forms.
The Website may link to or embed third-party services; their own privacy policies apply when you use them.
We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The current version, with its date, will always be published on the Website.
